Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, through CIP’s Energy Transition Fund, have awarded TKF the cable contract for phase 1 of the offshore wind project Zeevonk Offshore Wind Project. The contract covers the full supply of approximately 162 kilometres of 66 kV inter-array cables.
Under the agreement, TKF is responsible for design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, delivery and project management of the inter-array cables, including associated accessories.
The cables will be produced at TKF’s manufacturing facility in Eemshaven, the Netherlands.
The Zeevonk project covers an area of around 650 km² in the Dutch North Sea, located 63 to 84 kilometres off the coast of Bergen aan Zee. It will be developed in two phases. Phase 1 will deliver 1 GW of offshore wind capacity, with completion scheduled for 2029. Phase 2, planned for 2032, will add a further 1 GW of wind capacity and 500 MW of system integration capacity, including the development of an electrolyser at the Port of Rotterdam for green hydrogen production.
Zeevonk is a joint project between Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
