Cape Holland, part of Venterra Group, and GBM Works have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly further develop and commercialise Vibrojet, an installation technology for offshore wind monopile foundations. The technology combines vibratory driving with controlled water jetting.
Leonhardt & Blumberg equips cargo vessel with wind propulsion

German shipowner Leonhardt & Blumberg has equipped Hansa Drejoe with Econowind VentoFoils. The vessel is the first of four general cargo newbuilds to receive the wind propulsion technology. The first installation was completed on Hansa Drejoe at Royal Niestern Sander Shipyard in early August. Hansa Christiansoe is currently at the shipyard for installation.
Vestas reports higher revenue and raises 2026 profit outlook

Small-scale material changes improve wind turbine blade durability

Researchers at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) have developed two material approaches that could improve the durability and sustainability of wind turbine blades. The research, published in Advanced Science and Advanced Materials, focuses on reducing rain erosion at blade tips and strengthening flax fibre composites. The two studies form part of the NWO-funded LICHEN BLADES project, which is investigating circular wind turbine blade designs. PhD candidates Natalia Guevara Sotelo and Deniz Sayinbas are the lead authors, supervised by Julie Teuwen and Kunal Masania.
Enova funds Windeed floating wind demonstrator study

ABB to supply power and propulsion system for Allseas vessel

ABB has secured a contract with Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) to supply an integrated power and propulsion system for Allseas’ semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Grand Tour. The 230-metre vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2028 and will transport large converter stations from manufacturers in Asia and Europe before transferring them to Allseas’ construction vessel Pioneering Spirit for installation.
RES wins safety contract for East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm
