HEA Energy has acquired the jack-up vessels Thor and Wind Lift 1 from Semco Maritime. The companies have also agreed a long-term charter arrangement that will keep the vessels available to Semco Maritime for component exchange and component overhaul work in the European offshore wind market.

Stillstrom by Maersk has completed a trial of its automated offshore vessel charging system, aimed at reducing the need for manual cable handling when vessels operate on dynamic positioning in offshore wind farms. The trial of the Stillstrom Offshore eCharger, witnessed by DNV as part of its technology qualification process, tested the system's ability to manage the charging cable automatically from connection through to the vessel returning to position.
CS Wind Offshore uses automated milling machine for transition pieces

CS Wind Offshore has started using a custom-built automated milling machine from CNC Onsite at its facility in Aalborg, Denmark, to produce cable penetrations in transition pieces for offshore wind farms. The machine uses computer-controlled milling to produce precise, clean-cut holes for reliable cable sealing. Each transition piece requires six cable penetrations and 12 pressure relief holes. The latter help prevent structural deformation under changing pressure and rough sea conditions.

Hungary opens tender for wind farm grid connection capacity

The Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (HEPURA) has launched a tender for available capacity on the country's medium- and high-voltage electricity networks. The procedure is specifically aimed at allocating grid connection rights for wind power projects, with the first applications to be submitted from 1 September 2026. The tender is intended to support renewable energy development while maintaining security of supply and providing a transparent allocation of available network capacity.
