Iberdrola, through its British subsidiary SP Energy Networks, has awarded contracts for the development of the Eastern Green Link 4 (EGL4) subsea electricity interconnector between Scotland and England. Siemens Energy will build two high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter stations, which will convert alternating current to direct current for more efficient transmission at 525,000 volts over long distances.
Ofgem shortlists bidders to compete for offshore transmission assets linked to three UK wind farms

Ofgem has announced a shortlist of five bidders that will compete to own and operate the offshore electricity transmission links for three North Sea wind farms off Great Britain’s east coast. They will compete for the transmission assets connecting the East Anglia Three, Inch Cape and Dogger Bank C wind farms to Great Britain’s power grid. The group includes both established participants and others returning after a period of absence.
Taiwan launches round 3 offshore wind allocation with 3.6 GW capacity

Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has announced the start of the third phase of its offshore wind zonal development programme, following two briefings and three consultation meetings to gather stakeholder input. The government has released the “Directions for Capacity Allocation of Offshore Wind Power Zonal Development Phase 3” and will open the application process on 1 April 2026. Developers will have a six-month preparation period, with submissions closing on 30 September. The selection process is scheduled to be completed and results announced before the end of the year.
deugro expands operations at Port of Odense in Denmark
