Vestas introduces V182-7.2 MW wind turbine

Vestas has introduced the V182-7.2 MW wind turbine, based on the EnVentus platform. Depending on site conditions, the turbine is designed to increase annual energy production (AEP) by up to 6% and reduce the levelised cost of energy (LCoE) compared with the V172-7.2 MW.
German onshore wind auction awards 2.52 GW

The Bundesnetzagentur has published the results of its latest auction for onshore wind projects, which closed for bids on 1 August 2026. The auction offered 2,520 MW. A total of 461 bids with a combined volume of 5,250 MW were submitted. The Bundesnetzagentur awarded 237 bids with a total capacity of 2,523 MW, while 17 bids were excluded from the auction.
European Energy wins support for 89.6 MW in German wind tender

Eiffage joint venture wins second 2 GW offshore converter platform contract

Eiffage, through its Belgian subsidiary Smulders, has been awarded a second contract for an offshore converter platform by 50Hertz, the transmission system operator for northern and eastern Germany. Smulders is part of the NSORe joint venture (Neptun Smulders Offshore Renewables). NSORe is an equal joint venture between Smulders and Neptun Werft, part of Meyer Werft, focused on high-voltage direct current (HVDC) offshore substation projects.
Ørsted tenders for bird and bat monitoring in Polish Baltic Sea

Ørsted Wind Power A/S has launched a tender for post-construction monitoring of bats, seabirds and migratory birds at the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 offshore wind farms in the Polish Baltic Sea. The scope covers the Natura 2000 Słupsk Bank area and the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 offshore wind farms, located approximately 30 km offshore Poland.
Revolution Wind completes turbine installation off Rhode Island

Revolution Wind has completed installation of all 65 turbines at its 704 MW offshore wind farm approximately 15 nautical miles south-east of Point Judith, Rhode Island. The project began construction in 2023 and started delivering electricity to the New England grid in March 2026. Commissioning activities are continuing, with full commercial operation expected later this year.
Inauguration of He Dreiht offshore wind farm

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg, Allianz, AIP Management and Norges Bank Investment Management have inaugurated the He Dreiht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. The wind farm has 64 turbines with a combined capacity of 960 MW.
HybridGenerator introduces HG Lite for temporary power at wind farm construction sites

HybridGenerator has introduced the HG Lite, a compact hybrid generator for temporary power applications in wind farm construction and other construction projects. During wind farm construction and commissioning, temporary power is needed for equipment such as safety lighting, pumps and tools. HG Lite combines battery storage with on-demand diesel generation, allowing the engine to run when additional power is needed. The system can also be used on road and rail infrastructure and urban construction projects where grid capacity is limited or a permanent connection is not yet available.
Oracle invests in 1.7 GW of wind generation in Texas

Oracle has announced investments in more than 1.7 GW of wind energy generation across ten projects in Texas. The projects will supply electricity to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid, which powers Oracle’s Abilene facility.
Masdar and Taaleri Energia inaugurate 154 MW Čibuk 2 wind farm

Masdar and Finnish renewable energy fund manager Taaleri Energia have inaugurated the 154 MW Čibuk 2 wind farm in Serbia’s South Banat region, around 40 km from Belgrade. The project is located alongside the 158 MW Čibuk 1 wind farm, bringing the combined capacity of the two projects to 312 MW.
