Xcel Energy and GE Vernova have signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement to support generation and grid projects into the 2030s. The agreement covers equipment supply, services and collaboration across new and existing energy infrastructure.
As an initial step, Xcel Energy has executed a reservation agreement for the purchase of five F-class gas turbines. The company has also completed a capacity reservation agreement for multiple GW of wind projects using GE Vernova wind turbine technology, with equipment manufactured at facilities in the USA.
The partnership also includes collaboration on artificial intelligence applications, grid modernisation and joint research and development activities aimed at improving energy system performance.
