The World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) held its 4th World Wind Energy Conference & Renewable Energy Exhibition in Melbourne, Australia, from 2 to 4 November 2005. The event had 116 oral presentations and 44 posters, and the audience totalled some 500 persons. Relevant items concerning wind energy and its applications were covered, with some presentations dealing with the latest developments in these areas.

A New Event for the Wind Energy Business
Between 26 and 28 October, the first Copenhagen Offshore Wind (COW) conference and exhibition took place. Around 900 people participated in the conference and there were more than 100 companies exhibiting. With the importance of offshore wind energy, a special event like this is a good idea, although the annual schedule of conferences and exhibitions is quite busy already.

There was a Real Buzz in the Hall
The fifth All-Energy conference and exhibition was held in Aberdeen on 25 and 26 May. More than 200 companies exhibited their products and services. The 2,150 participants represented an increase of 20% over the previous year. North America’s Biggest Wind Energy Event Ever
Windpower 2005 was held in Denver, Colorado, from 15 to 18 May. This year’s event was the biggest conference and exhibition ever. More than 235 companies were showing their products and services in the exhibition hall. The number of attendees exceeded 4,000. A Successful Gathering of Professionals
The 2004 European Wind Energy Conference (EWEC) was held in London from 22 until 25 November. Over 4,200 participants from 44 countries attended the four-day event. In total, 255 companies exhibited, there were 300 poster presentations, and 220 speakers and chairmen took part in 40 scientific, technical, business and policy sessions.
