Glamox has secured a contract to supply lighting systems for four Offshore Energy Support Vessels (OESVs) being built for Sea1 Offshore. The company will deliver a total of around 8,000 marine lights for both exterior and interior applications.
OESVs are specialised vessels providing logistics, transport, installation, maintenance and operational support for offshore energy infrastructure, including wind farms, oil and gas platforms, subsea installations and cable systems.
Each vessel will be equipped with approximately 2,000 marine LED lights. Exterior systems include watertight and explosion-proof luminaires as well as floodlights, while interior lighting covers workshops, storage areas, passageways and crew spaces.
The first delivery will be made in April to Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Qidong, which is constructing all four vessels and will install the lighting. Deliveries for the remaining vessels will follow at three-month intervals.
The vessels are based on the ST-245 design. Two were ordered in November 2024 and two more in March 2025. Each vessel will be 120 metres long, with a 1,400 square metre cargo deck, a 250-tonne deck crane, two remotely operated vehicle hangars and a moonpool, and accommodation for up to 120 personnel. Delivery of all four vessels is scheduled between 2027 and the first half of 2028.
