Gurit has signed a two-year supply contract for its glass pultruded blade root reinforcement solution with a wind turbine manufacturer in the Asia-Pacific region. Gurit’s pultruded root reinforcements are designed for individual blade models and are intended to support bonding performance at the blade root connection interface and reduce the risk of bushing shear-out.
The company said its design approach can enable more efficient root configurations and closer bushing spacing, which may allow smaller root diameters and reduced structural weight while maintaining required strength. The agreement is valued at more than CHF 10 million over the contract period.
