Spie, through its wind power high-voltage specialist unit Spie Wind Connect, has been awarded a contract by Seaway7 to deliver termination and testing works for inter-array cable systems at two offshore wind farms in Poland.
The scope covers the 66 kV inter-array cable network linking wind turbine generators to offshore substations for the Bałtyk II offshore wind farm and Bałtyk III offshore wind farm projects. Both sites are located in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone in the south-western Baltic Sea, off the northern coast of Poland.
Each project has an installed capacity of around 720 MW and features a layout of ten strings of five wind turbines, connected to offshore substations via 66 kV inter-array cables. Within each string, the outermost turbine is connected using a 400 mm² cable, while a 1000 mm² cable carries combined string power to the offshore substation.
The main offshore campaign is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026, when Spie Wind Connect will carry out termination and testing activities to support final grid connection.
