Van Oord has completed the transport and installation of all monopile foundations and transition pieces for the Baltic Power offshore wind farm in Poland. Developed by Orlen and Northland Power, the project has a planned capacity of up to 1.2 GW.
Van Oord was responsible for transporting and installing 78 monopile foundations and 76 transition pieces. Most monopiles were installed using Van Oord’s heavy-lift installation vessel Svanen.
Van Oord worked with Mammoet, using its XXL monopile transport system to manage foundations efficiently at the port, along with the MTC1600 crane, developed in collaboration with Van Oord for the Baltic Power project, to transfer components to and from the water.
All 76 transition pieces were installed by SAL’s DP2 heavy-lift vessel MV Lone, with a Van Oord team on board overseeing operations.
