Iberdrola has reported a record volume of electricity distributed through its networks in a single quarter, reaching 62,577 GWh—an increase of 1.7% compared with the same period in 2024.
This operational performance in its networks business is attributed to increased electricity demand across all the company’s markets, including Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and Brazil, along with ongoing progress in the electrification of the economy.
Renewable generation also rose in the first quarter of the year, with Iberdrola producing 25,222 GWh, a 4.9% increase on the same period last year. Notable growth was recorded in Brazil (+24.6%) and the United States (+8.3%). Spain once again reached record levels for this part of the year, generating 10,737 GWh of renewable electricity, up 2.4%.
Over the past twelve months, the company has installed 2,511 MW of new renewable capacity—5.4% more than the previous year. Iberdrola’s total renewable capacity now stands at 44,675 MW.
