Partrac, part of Venterra Group, is expanding its V LiDAR floating wind measurement fleet in response to increased demand from offshore wind developers. Developed by Partrac in collaboration with Osbit, the V LiDAR system is designed to improve safety, reliability and operational performance compared to earlier floating LiDAR designs.
It incorporates a lifting arm intended to reduce offshore handling risks, real-time high-frequency data transfer, and an extended deployment period of up to 20 months, helping to limit maintenance visits and offshore interventions.
Partrac has recently completed a pre-validation campaign for three V LiDAR systems at the NOAH met mast facility. The campaign forms part of preparations for an offshore deployment scheduled for this summer, with testing focused on performance, data quality and operational readiness ahead of mobilisation.
