Siemens Energy has announced plans to transition to a new independent brand name, Omterra, following its spin-off from Siemens in 2020. The rebranding is linked to the company’s time-limited licence agreement for the use of the Siemens Energy brand. The current entities Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will be brought together under the Omterra name and brand umbrella, with the transition expected to begin later this year and be implemented gradually.
Since becoming an independent company, Siemens Energy has focused on strengthening its operational and financial position while expanding its activities in the energy sector. The company said the new brand reflects its global operations, technological capabilities and role in supporting energy systems worldwide. The change will not affect the company’s strategy, customers, business partners or employees, according to Siemens Energy.
