Christening ceremony of Windward Paris. courtesy VardWindward Offshore has taken delivery of its second commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV), Windward Paris. The vessel was built by Vard in Norway and will enter charter immediately to support construction activities at an offshore wind farm in the German Bight. Windward Paris is based on the Vard 4 19 design and is purpose built for offshore wind installation, commissioning and operations and maintenance work. The vessel has a length of 87.5 metres and a beam of 19.5 metres, with accommodation for up to 120 personnel.

Key features include a height adjustable, motion compensated gangway with an integrated elevator system, a height adjustable boat landing system and a battery hybrid power system prepared for future operation on green methanol. The vessel is also equipped with an integrated automation and bridge system, alongside advanced onboard solutions for power, control and communications. In addition, Windward Paris features an electrically controlled motion compensated crane designed specifically for offshore wind applications.

Windward Paris is the second of four CSOVs contracted by Windward Offshore. The vessels Windward Munich and Windward Hamburg are currently under construction.
