Developers will now be able to apply for permits with subsidies for two offshore wind projects instead of one in the 2026 tender round. Applications will be submitted to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for the sites IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A and IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B. In January, RVO announced the permitting round for IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A. It is now confirmed that developers will also be able to apply this year for IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B. Each wind farm will have a capacity of 1 GW.
Both tenders are expected to close in December 2026. RVO plans to grant subsidy decisions and associated permits in the first quarter of 2027. The wind farms are expected to begin generating electricity from 2032.
For IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B, a developer can receive a maximum subsidy of €0.103 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This is slightly lower than for IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A, reflecting the higher expected wind yield at the Gamma-B site due to its location.
The final tender regulations for IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A and Gamma-B are expected in the second quarter of 2026. The draft regulation for Gamma-B is identical to that of Gamma-A. A six-week public consultation will still take place for the Gamma-B draft, allowing developers to provide input before finalisation. The consultation is being conducted separately because the site is located in a different area.
Both IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A and Gamma-B will be connected to the same offshore platform operated by TenneT.
