DC21 Operations, which maintains and repairs Endurance E Series and X Series wind turbines, has partnered with Gill Instruments to introduce ultrasonic anemometers for wind speed measurement.The partnership responds to issues with ageing mechanical anemometers, which can lead to higher maintenance costs and downtime. To address this, DC21 has worked with Gill Instruments to integrate the WindSonic M ultrasonic anemometer. Unlike mechanical anemometers, the WindSonic M has no moving parts, reducing the risk of wear and tear. DC21 has selected the heated version of the device to help prevent ice and snow build-up.
