HybridGenerator has introduced the HG Lite, a compact hybrid generator for temporary power applications in wind farm construction and other construction projects. During wind farm construction and commissioning, temporary power is needed for equipment such as safety lighting, pumps and tools. HG Lite combines battery storage with on-demand diesel generation, allowing the engine to run when additional power is needed. The system can also be used on road and rail infrastructure and urban construction projects where grid capacity is limited or a permanent connection is not yet available.
The mobile unit combines a diesel engine, a 22 kWh lithium titanate oxide (LTO) battery and a 24 kVA inverter. It has a maximum output of 48 kW, with a combined output of 31 kW / 39 kVA for approximately 30 minutes. The unit provides 400 V and 230 V CEE connections, supports external charging and can optionally be fitted with a Type 2 electric vehicle charging connection.
The Yanmar diesel engine meets Stage V emissions requirements. The 215-litre fuel tank can use hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), and no AdBlue is required. HG Lite also includes PowerAssist, which uses the battery to provide additional power when demand exceeds the available grid capacity. This allows temporary peak loads to be supported without necessarily requiring an increase in the site's grid connection.
