Palfinger has secured a contract to supply PF200-7m davit cranes for offshore wind converter platforms in the North Sea. Under the agreement with Dragados Offshore, Palfinger will deliver seven PF200-7m davit cranes for five High Voltage Direct Current converter platforms in the North Sea.
The platforms form part of large-scale grid connection programmes supporting the German transmission system operators Amprion and TenneT Germany. Two Amprion offshore substations will each be equipped with two PF200-7m cranes, while three TenneT substations will each receive one unit. Once operational, the substations will serve as high-capacity transmission hubs linking offshore wind farms to the mainland grid.
Production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026, with deliveries continuing through the first quarter of 2028. Offshore commissioning will continue until the fourth quarter of 2031, supporting the phased completion of the converter platforms.
