Following the localisation of rotor blade production, Enercon will also manufacture generators and hybrid steel towers for the E-175 EP5 E2 in Türkiye. Under the agreements, ATEŞ Wind Power will manufacture generators for projects in Türkiye at its facility in Bergama, İzmir Province. The expansion is expected to create 300 new jobs at the site and support additional employment among regional suppliers.
Enercon is also expanding its existing partnership with ATEŞ Celik to include steel towers from its Hybrid Steel Tower (HST) portfolio for the E-175 EP5 E2. The facility in Bandırma, Balıkesir Province, will manufacture HST components for projects in both Türkiye and Europe. The move enables the company to meet local content requirements under Türkiye’s wind energy tendering system, which requires a defined share of wind turbine components to be produced domestically. The E-175 EP5 E2 has a rated capacity of 7.0 MW and a rotor diameter of 175 metres.
The corresponding production partnership agreements were signed at the Turkish-German Energy Forum in Ankara in the presence of German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar.
