Mooreast has announced plans to work with Sime Darby Joy Industries, a subsidiary of Sime Darby Berhad, to explore offshore-related business opportunities, including in renewable energy in Malaysia. Under a non-binding indicative term sheet between Mooreast’s subsidiary, Mooreast Asia Pte. Ltd, and Sime Darby Joy, the parties aim to develop and deliver products for offshore renewable energy, deep-sea offshore equipment and systems, and related services.
Mooreast will provide technical support, engineering expertise, and supply raw materials and components, while Sime Darby Joy will handle pilot fabrication, including production scheduling, manpower, and logistics.
Mooreast is a mooring solutions provider and Asia’s only designer and manufacturer of drag embedment anchors. Sime Darby Joy has specialised in engineering and fabrication of heat exchangers and process equipment, serving the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors for more than 35 years.
