American Clean Power Association (ACP) has published its second annual State of Clean Energy Manufacturing report. The report states that clean energy manufacturing has become an important part of the USA industrial economy.

According to ACP, the sector provides a domestic source of energy infrastructure to help meet growing electricity demand while reducing reliance on foreign energy resources and supply chains. Key findings from the report include:

  • More than 235 new clean energy manufacturing facilities have opened in the USA during the past five years.
  • More than 300 factories in the USA are producing core clean energy components, including wind blades, towers, nacelles, solar modules and batteries.
  • Every clean energy manufacturing job supports an additional four jobs across the wider USA economy, including one job linked to upstream activities and three jobs linked to household spending.
  • Domestic manufacturing capacity is now sufficient to fully meet USA demand for solar modules, battery modules, wind towers and wind nacelles.
