Dieseko launches OPUS offshore pile installation systemDieseko Group has introduced OPUS, a new Offshore Pile Upending System designed for high-volume offshore pile installation campaigns. The patented system combines pile storage, transfer, upending and vibro-driven installation into a single operational sequence. According to Dieseko, the concept enables pile installation from more widely available offshore support vessels, including platform supply vessels (PSVs) and anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels.

OPUS has been developed for campaigns involving anchor piles and other stand-alone piles, integrating transport, storage, upending and installation into a single workflow.

The company said the system could reduce vessel-related costs by up to 85% in large-scale anchor pile campaigns. Based on its modelling, a project involving 120 to 200 anchor piles could reduce vessel utilisation by approximately 13 to 16 offshore days and lower vessel-related costs by up to €5–6 million.

In addition to installation activities, OPUS incorporates pile extraction capabilities, allowing the same methodology to be used for both new offshore developments and decommissioning projects.
