Sirius Design & Integration has introduced a new cable-laying vessel (CLV) concept for offshore wind, interconnectors and other grid projects. The design includes a large-capacity cable carousel to carry long continuous cable lengths and reduce the need for port calls. An integrated cable-laying system is designed to handle cables from the carousel to the seabed.
Other features include a deck crane for installation and repair work, a helideck and accommodation for project crews. The hull and energy systems are designed to support station-keeping, transit efficiency and the use of alternative fuels. The concept can be adapted to specific contracts, equipment requirements and operational profiles, including export cable installation, inter-array cable work and long-distance interconnectors.
