RES’ Digital Solutions business has launched Smart Pilot, a data capture software designed to support wind blade inspections during a single turbine stop. Traditionally, blade inspections required a turbine to be stopped three times to position each blade individually, with a separate drone flight for each. Smart Pilot reduces this process to a single automated stop.
The solution operates using standard off-the-shelf DJI hardware, including DJI drones and payloads, without the need for additional proprietary equipment such as extra cameras or stabilisation systems. Training can be completed remotely, and the captured data is uploaded and managed through RES’ digital platform.
