SkySpecs has introduced a Risk Management Module for its SkySpecs-Blade software application, designed to help wind farm operators assess blade damage and plan maintenance. The module uses damage data to estimate how defects may develop over time, identify potential intervention needs and assess risks across a turbine fleet.
Operators can use configurable rules to prioritise defects and direct higher-risk cases to engineering teams. Key capabilities include:
- Damage progression prediction: estimates the likelihood of specific blade defects increasing in severity over defined periods.
- Automated damage classification: uses predictive estimates and defect patterns to classify and prioritise damage.
- Damage confirmation and work orders: confirms qualifying defects and creates work orders based on customer-defined rules and damage attributes.
- Engineering workflow: highlights high-priority issues through inspection campaign workflows and configurable dashboards.
The module is integrated into SkySpecs-Blade and works with existing blade inspection workflows. It adds predictive risk assessment to the software's existing fleet records and damage management functions.
