Mammoet has completed the transport, loadout and mooring of the 5,461-tonne offshore jacket foundation for the BorWin6 converter platform in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. The structure is destined for the German North Sea.
The BorWin6 offshore grid connection, developed by TenneT and delivered by McDermott International, is a 980 MW high voltage direct current connection that will transmit offshore wind energy from the German North Sea to the mainland.
Mammoet moved the jacket using 216 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporters powered by four power pack units and managed mooring during quay operations. The jacket and foundation piles are now secured for sailaway to Europe.
Later in 2026, Mammoet will complete the BorWin6 topside jack-up and weighing, using its Mega Jack System for the approximately 17,000-tonne topside.
