Pattern Energy and Salt River Project have signed a power purchase agreement for up to 600 MW of electricity from the SunZia wind and transmission project. Salt River Project will begin receiving 400 MW of electricity this autumn, with its allocation increasing to 600 MW by the summer of 2027.
SunZia is expected to generate enough electricity to supply approximately one million homes each year. The project represents an $11 billion investment across the southwestern USA and includes 3,650 MW of wind generation supported by a 550-mile high-voltage direct current transmission line.
