GeoForce Technical Services, part of Oceanscan and the Venterra Group, has expanded its geotechnical soil testing capability with the introduction of a 24-hour onboard soils laboratory and enhanced onshore testing services. The development is intended to support offshore site investigations from data acquisition through to reporting.
The first project delivered under the expanded service was carried out for offshore survey company Sulmara. The work included a full geotechnical programme comprising cone penetration testing, vibrocorer operations and thermal resistivity testing.
During the project, GeoForce operated an onboard soils laboratory on a continuous basis, enabling real-time sample handling and analysis. The approach supported an integrated engineering workflow from mobilisation through to the preparation of final reports.
