Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) has appointed co-founder Lars Thaaning Pedersen as its new CEO. Henrik Scheinemann, COP’s co-founder and current CEO, will become Chairman of the Board on 1 September 2026.
Pedersen has more than 20 years of experience in offshore wind and large energy infrastructure projects across international markets. From 2017 to 2023, he was CEO of COP’s US business, where he was involved in the development of Vineyard Wind, the first commercial-scale offshore wind project in the USA, and oversaw a 6 GW offshore wind portfolio across the Americas.
COP has worked exclusively with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) since 2015. In 2024, Pedersen and CIP co-founded CIP Molecule Technologies. He will continue as its CEO alongside his new role at COP.
