Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions, has awarded a contract to a consortium comprising Hitachi Energy and Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL).
The consortium will design and deliver high-voltage direct current (HVDC) terminals to transmit renewable energy from the Bhadla region in Rajasthan to Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, a key industrial and transport hub. The 6 GW, 950 kilometre HVDC link is expected to supply power to approximately 60 million households.
The scope of the project includes converter transformers, alternating current/direct current control and protection systems, thyristor valves, 765 kV/400 kV grid connections, and auxiliary systems. These will be provided by Hitachi Energy and its consortium partner BHEL.
