Ming Yang Smart Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Buhawind Energy Northern Luzon Corporation to carry out a joint feasibility study for a proposed 2 GW offshore wind project in Ilocos Norte, Northern Luzon, the Philippines.
The study will evaluate the suitability of Ming Yang’s offshore wind turbine technologies for local marine and weather conditions, including energy yield and cost assessments, and will develop feasibility solutions aligned with regional infrastructure.
Buhawind Energy Northern Luzon is the Department of Energy’s service contractor for the project and a subsidiary of PetroGreen Energy Corporation, part of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, with Japan’s Kyuden International Corporation as a minority partner. The collaboration will assess floating turbine options and outline engineering and full life-cycle operation and maintenance services for the Northern Luzon site.
