Ofgem has launched a tender for the offshore transmission assets connecting the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm to the UK electricity grid. Hornsea 3 is under construction in the North Sea, more than 100 kilometres offshore. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027 and is expected to generate enough electricity to power 3.3 million UK homes.

Adani Wind has secured orders totalling 696.2 MW from five power producers in India. The orders comprise 300 MW from Purvah Green Power, part of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group; 155 MW from Jindal India Power, part of the BC Jindal Group; 109.2 MW from NTPC Renewable Energy; 82.5 MW from Aditya Birla Renewables; and 49.5 MW from Integrum Energy.

The US Department of Justice has asked a federal court to return the approval for Avangrid’s New England Wind offshore wind project to the Department of the Interior for reconsideration. The project is planned off the coast of Massachusetts and has not yet begun construction.

Neoenergia, part of the Iberdrola Group, and the European Investment Bank (EIB), through EIB Global, have signed a financing agreement to expand and modernise the electricity distribution grid operated by Neoenergia Elektro in the Brazilian states of São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul. The loan of R$857 million is guaranteed by Cesce, the Spanish export credit agency.
