Brazil has launched a call for investors to support the country’s first offshore wind demonstrator project. The initiative is a project of the Senai Institute for Innovation in Renewable Energies, part of the Confederation of Brazilian Industry, together with engineering firm Dois A Engenharia e Tecnologia.

Mooreast has started feasibility studies to develop up to 500 MW of renewable energy projects in Timor-Leste. The initiative follows a Letter of Intent signed with the Secretary of State for Electricity, Water and Sanitation (SEEAS) under the Ministry of Public Works. The studies will explore opportunities to deploy between 300 and 500 MW of floating renewable capacity over the next five to ten years.

RWE has finished installing all foundations for the 1.1 GW Thor offshore wind farm in the Danish North Sea. The final monopile, out of a total of 72, was installed in September, marking a key milestone for the project. Last week, RWE also completed the installation of the secondary steel structures, including boat landings, main access platforms, and internal cassettes.

Iberdrola Australia has been chosen as a partner to develop the VNI West (Victoria to New South Wales Interconnector West) transmission project. The new infrastructure will connect Victoria and New South Wales through a 240 km, 500 kV double-circuit transmission line, designed to boost bidirectional transfer capacity by up to 3.5 GW and enable greater integration of renewable generation across both states.

Palfinger Marine will supply fully electric jib cranes for the substations of the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms off the Polish coast. Each substation will be equipped with two DKJ500e cranes, built at Palfinger Marine’s facility in Gdynia, Poland.
