Sumitomo Corporation has decided to sell its equity interests in three offshore wind projects off the coast of Belgium: Northwind, Nobelwind and Northwester 2. Sumitomo joined the Northwind project in 2013, Nobelwind in 2014 and Northwester 2 in 2018.
The company has completed the sale of its stakes in Nobelwind and Northwester 2 to existing shareholder Jera Nex bp. The sale of its stake in Northwind to Publiwind, a consortium of Belgian investment firms, is subject to approval from relevant authorities and is expected to be completed during fiscal year 2026.
Sumitomo has been involved in the projects from development and construction through to operation.
