DNV certifies Econowind VentoFoil wind-assisted propulsion system

Econowind has received a Type Approval Design Certificate (TADC) from DNV for its VentoFoil 3-Series boundary layer suction wing. The certification confirms compliance with DNV's ST-0511 standard for Wind-Assisted Propulsion Systems. The 16-metre VentoFoil 3-Series uses wind power to generate forward thrust, helping to reduce fuel consumption.
Korea Midland Power and Unison sign offshore wind operation and maintenance agreement

Shell has agreed to sell 100% of Solenergi Power Private Limited, which includes the Sprng Energy group of companies, to Aditya Birla Renewables Limited (ABRen). Sprng Energy supplies solar and wind power to electricity distribution companies in India. Its portfolio includes 5.0 GWp of assets, comprising 3.3 GWp in operation and 1.7 GWp under contract.
European Commission approves French offshore wind support scheme

The European Commission has approved a French state aid scheme to support offshore wind energy under the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF), adopted on 25 June 2025. The scheme will support the construction and operation of 11 offshore wind farms in the North Sea, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Together, the projects are expected to provide up to 11.1 GW of installed capacity and generate up to 47.8 TWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to around 10.6% of France's annual electricity consumption.
Principle Power wins EFGL operations and maintenance contract

Principle Power has been awarded the operations and maintenance (O&M) support contract for the 30 MW Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion (EFGL) floating offshore wind project in the French Mediterranean. The project is operated by Ocean Winds in partnership with Banque des Territoires. The agreement covers the project's three WindFloat foundations, each supporting a Vestas V164-10 MW turbine.
