DNV report points to rapid solar and wind expansion across the Middle East and North Africa

A new analysis by DNV indicates that the Middle East and North Africa is entering a phase of accelerated renewable power growth, led by large-scale solar projects and increasing deployment of energy storage. The report, Rise of Renewables in the Gulf Region finds that variable renewable capacity in the region is expected to increase around tenfold by 2040, with further growth projected through to 2060, alongside continued oil and gas production.
UK announces results of Contracts for Difference Allocation Round 7

The UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has published the results of Contracts for Difference Allocation Round 7, with outcomes issued to applicants by the National Energy System Operator acting as delivery body. The round has awarded contracts to a total of 8,437.5 MW of offshore wind and floating offshore wind capacity across England, Scotland and Wales. Offshore wind projects in Pot 3 account for the majority of awards, alongside two floating offshore wind projects supported under Pot 4.
HSI Joint Venture completes offshore installation of OSS Jasmund in the Baltic Sea

The HSI Joint Venture, comprising HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv, has completed the offshore installation of the OSS Jasmund offshore substation at the Ostwind 3 site in the Baltic Sea. The installation for the Ostwind 3 project included the 72-metre-high jacket and a structure weighing more than 4,000 tonnes developed for 50Hertz.
Fugro and PTSC Geos and Subsea Services extend survey services partnership in Vietnam

Encavis finances 199 MW wind and solar portfolio in Spain

A portfolio of three wind farms and two solar farms in Spain, with a combined capacity of 199 MW, has secured project financing following its acquisition by Encavis. The first projects are already operational, while the remaining assets are scheduled to enter operation in the first quarter of 2026.

SSE submits planning application for Tattymoyle Wind Farm in County Tyrone

SSE has submitted a planning application to the Department for Infrastructure for the proposed Tattymoyle Wind Farm in County Tyrone. The application follows environmental assessments and two rounds of public consultation carried out since autumn 2024 with local communities in Omagh, Fivemiletown and the wider south Tyrone area.
Hansen Protection wins multi-year contract with Lufttransport

Hansen Protection has signed a multi-year agreement to supply life-protection equipment to Lufttransport, a Norwegian offshore helicopter operator. The three-year contract, with an option to extend, covers personal protective equipment including immersion suits, lifejackets, and rescue swimmer gear.
Vattenfall confirms full investment for Nordlicht I and II offshore wind cluster

The permit for the Nordlicht II offshore wind farm, issued by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, has become irrevocable. With this approval, Vattenfall has confirmed the full Final Investment Decision for the Nordlicht cluster, comprising Nordlicht I and Nordlicht II. Construction is scheduled to start in 2026.
